Honestly.. UNIVERSAL CREDIT application.. Is it a faff?

We've got to do ours tonight.. On PC not mobile as easier to scan documents.

How long does it take. Its a joint application. Is is a faff? Or has anyone actually done it with ease?

You have to both apply separately, the first person then gets a code to give to the second person to link your accounts.

It isn't that difficult if you have all your paperwork ready eg payslips, rent agreement, child benefit numbers etc.

Took about 30 mins initially for dd, but hers was simple (got rejected and told to apply for esa but that's another story)

I have helped a lot of people do single applications and they are fine. I did run into trouble with a couples on once but I think actually there was a problem with their email accounts. as the linking code didn't work. I would say don't try to bother with the online verification for ID, it's much easier just to go to the job centre for a quick appt and take your documents in there.

Thanks. Prob is with dps side of it. He can't take hic ID as works Mon to Fri and they won't allow time off unless his holiday which has been booked and can't change.

So will have to try the online verification?

Yes you can try online verification or some job centres are open on a Saturday morning.

My I'd didn't work online.. I have to make an appointment.
Dps didv work online and verified but still says needs an interview. He works full time. Maybe they need more ID from him.

What a pain in the arse it all was. But will be worth it.
