Lies, creative accounting and the Law of Reaction. Network marketers, we’re onto you - and so is the BBC:

Ph.D. did a live. I don't have the stomach for it at the moment- has anyone watched it?

Jigsawpuzzle · 05/06/2019 14:25

PHD- watched about 10 mins during ad breaks and watched a few minutes of Castles. Wow a lot of words but no substance and I am still none the wiser.
When I was training in the tax office the mantra was be clear and concise .
I can now see why they offer nothing to the real world, they live on a parallel universe.

Twentytwentyhindsight · 05/06/2019 16:07

Thanks for taking one for the team Jigsaw.

Jigsawpuzzle · 05/06/2019 16:20

Remember the film Clockwork Orange when he had the eye clamps? That is the torture some of the huns have to endure.

Twentytwentyhindsight · 05/06/2019 16:39

They are all torturous to watch, but there is a special level of inanity with Ph.D. that really doesn't do my blood pressure any good.

spanfan · 05/06/2019 16:46

I have tried on occasion to try to work out a structure to their lives and fail. Every time. They never say anything of value.

And repeat themselves. And then get to a point but just before say hi to someone... And lose thread

And the hair swishing, fiddling, nose rubbing is ANNOYING!!!! 😭😭😭😭

BSintolerant · 05/06/2019 16:52

Isn’t nose rubbing a sign of lying?

GimmieTheCoffeeAndNooneDies · 05/06/2019 16:54

According to body language experts that I have just google d, touching one's nose while talking is a sign of lying

Spongebobette · 05/06/2019 17:06

Nurse does that in her lives
It’s such a ‘tell’

MLMsuperfan · 05/06/2019 17:19

Anybody able to offer advice here?

GoldenKelpie · 05/06/2019 18:08

Very reassuring, MLMsuperfan to see all the responses trouncing MLM companies.

TheHorseOnSeventhAvenue · 05/06/2019 20:19

I’ve always thought a body language expert would love PHD’s lives - there is always hair-flicking / face-touching when she mentions her income.

As for the content. No professional business coach talks about their experiences (and yes I have a professional coaching qualification and it is nothing like this MLM shit).

It’s all fluff. Never heard her talk about product, competitor bench-marking, USPSor Profit & Loss. Nothing commercial at all; instead it’s mindset and dreaming about being successful.

MLM businesses are all about planning with a orettydiary and a set of highlighters. Unfortunately that is unlikely to make you rich.

TheHorseOnSeventhAvenue · 05/06/2019 20:21

Sorry that was supposed to say pretty diary.

ImpracticalCape · 06/06/2019 08:14

I've known everyone else for years but Any clues on PHD? The usual FB search clues haven't worked as I'm not in the UK and I get a load of Phillipines based bots.

ImpracticalCape · 06/06/2019 08:20

Urgent assistance needed on the chat thread linked below by @MLMsuperfan Long monologue from a hun explaining MLM is the future of retail and how the OP is an unsupportive friend....

BlueCookieMonster · 06/06/2019 10:03

Can I ask for some advice? My friend is involved in a oils type MLM. I have bought a few things as I do like the products, but recently she’s started to try and make a business out of it.

Every conversation is about this, she has precious little time/money as it is and I just feel that she’ll be there in a years time and regret all this. She’s in too deep for me to deny things, I’ve gently suggested that she needs to put something down as she’s so busy.

Any tips? Or do I just let her crack on.

BlueCookieMonster · 06/06/2019 10:03

Dent things, not deny. Flipping phone!!

Spongebobette · 06/06/2019 10:53

I think Yawn's downline huns have been told to emphasise the benefits of the products that they use personally

Cue Receipt bot clucking like a dirty junkie in withdrawal when she runs out of supplements

Nurse saying she can't do without her daily shot of aloe

What is in this stuff??

ImpracticalCape · 06/06/2019 11:23

So nurse was in some personal 'trainings' in Yawns shed a few days ago. Why hasnt she posted about this on FB? Usually anything Yawn related gets a gushing boast.

CodenameVillanelle · 06/06/2019 11:50

@impracticalcape I just googled forever living PhD and she comes up first

ImpracticalCape · 06/06/2019 12:02

@CodenameVillanelle yup. Tried that. As I'm not in the UK FB is set to only bring up people 'nearby' so only getting a load of Manila and India based (male) bots. No one with a UK sounding name.

Spongebobette · 06/06/2019 12:36

@BlueCookieMonster

sadly, because you bought a few things from your friend she now believes she has the basis for a business.
Even if you like the oils, you aren't doing her any favours by purchasing them from her I'm afraid. I expect her family and friends have all bought stuff in the spirit of trying to support her but the fact is that the money is going straight up the pyramid and she'll make very little.

BlueCookieMonster · 06/06/2019 14:27

No I realise that (to be honest, I bought the things I have off of eBay for half price).

I’m just worried that she’s going to invest what little energy she has into something that won’t work.

gotmychocolateimgood · 06/06/2019 19:55

So much for consistency. Castle pledged to post every day for 2 weeks and has already missed a day!

BSintolerant · 06/06/2019 21:21

Given the MLM Law of Reaction she might do an extra long one to make up for it.
