Hi so I'm in a situation where I'm on maternity leave and my pay stops.
I can go back to work but I can't afford to ☹️ I have 2 babies under 2 and will not be able to afford the childcare.
Dad is not on the scene....
Question is if I resign from my job will I be entitled to benefits or will I not be able to claim for a period of time. Is that a good enough reason to resign and get help until I can find a job that's suited or a working from home job.
Any help appreciated thanks

You can get help towards child care costs and working tax credits will top your wages up

Do whatever you can do to stay in work. It will help with your future prospects.

Are you on any benefits currently ? You would only be able to make a claim for working tax credits now if you already have a child tax credit claim otherwise any new claim would be Universal credit. You would have no sanctions or work commitments on Uc until your youngest child is 3 on UC.
