Is carers allowance means tested?

It is a taxable benefit. if you start claiming it alongside other means tested benefits like Uc or tax credits then you need to declare it.

yes and no.

You can only get it if you ear under £123/week (you can earn a bit more and still qualify as part of pension contributions and childcare fees are deductable) but in a nutshell, that is it. If you earn below £123/week then you qualify - savings, household income etc are irrelevant. Even if you have millions in the bank and a partner you ears loads. It's just your income that is relevant.
