not had a chance to watch the doco yet. I have a family member involved in one of these, she's too nice to properly con anyone so she'll never get anywhere but I'm just waiting for her to leave.
What stops ppl simply walking away once they realise there's no money to be made? Sunk costs fallacy, the promise that things will look up (do uplines offer any incentive to stay if ppl look like they might leave?), or is it simply other bots being nasty? Do ppl simply carry on believing what they're told even when they've experienced it to be false many many times?

I don't think my family member actually knows many other bots in real life so I would think the real-life consequences would be minimal?

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 28/04/2019 09:35

Anyone else think that the FL bots have gone a bit quiet? Maybe they were busy watching the documentary and shitting themselves.

Meanwhile....If your business is health, fitness and general well-being and your life is so perfect and hunkydory why would you be waking up with a hangover every Saturday morning for years??

Something doesn't quite add up (no surprise really, I don't think she knows the meaning of the word truth)

SnoogyWoo · 28/04/2019 09:44

I think because FL wasn’t mentioned they will spin it by saying... we weren’t mentioned so the company must be good plus we have a much bigger product range than make up.

Hunbot · 28/04/2019 10:13

One thing I think was missed in the documentary especially as it is called 'the secret of the mlm millionaires' is that most of the mlm millionaires are not millionaires and a lot of them are making unenviable incomes yet telling their downlines that they are 6 figure earners. Maybe if they had looked at 1 or two high profile bots (annonymised them) and looked at what they claimed to be earning and also looked at their accounts to expose the reality then it would have shown bots that even your mentor who is pretending to have a lifestyle like Beyonce thanks to the company actually is in a hole for 200k because they make sod all either

GrimDamnFanjo · 28/04/2019 10:23

I really wish they'd created a graphic with the main mlm companies listed...

GrimDamnFanjo · 28/04/2019 10:35

Re Utah: what better place to launch your mlm business than a place where there are thousands of women encouraged to stay at home who have already had 18 mo this hardcore experience of recruitment...

Whiterangey · 28/04/2019 11:25

It would be a tough one looking at accounts for the top bots. Because of the way accounts are filed the last accounts can be incurred from 2 years ago. They aren't totally up to date so no way of knowing what they earnt last month. Some also haven't set up companies so no accounts are available.

Nurse is putting together a website. She has screenshotted some of the page. I don't understand why their business pages are all about them. Surely it should be about how the customer benefits.

When I'm looking for a product I want to know what it will do for me. I don't care about the sellers life story. Unless it's a proper home business with handmade things I don't care if me buying something will help you.

Last thing I bought online was an SD card, I didn't give a thought to how my purchase would help the seller.

I'm also really frustrated that Nurse will be sitting there imagining all the new recruits and sales she will get from her new website when we know it won't make any difference. Dreaming about how her life will be when she is a 6 figure earner with forever. It makes me so sad.

The comments from the companies at the end that reps can get refunds for unsold stock is disingenuous.
First the ability to get a refund for unsold MLM products is required by US law so the companies are not doing it from the goodness of their hearts.
Secondly, the companies use a lot of tactics to persuade people not to request refunds. I don’t know the specifics of the two mentioned in the programme, but pinktruth.com that covers Mary Kay says they have rules such as a) you only get 90% back and that doesn’t include money spent on postage or anything bought on special offer. You can only return items in current packaging and Mary Kay update their packaging frequently. Any commission given on purchases is taken back from everyone in the line that received it (and that can be up to a year after purchase so your commission cheque isn’t safe until a year has passed) so your upline will put a lot of pressure on their down line not to ask for a refund because of this, and finally if you ask for a refund then you will never be able to work for Mary Kay again so you can’t take a break, get a refund for unsold stock and take it up again in the future. They use the fear of being out of the group forever to persuade people not to get their money back. Which is why you see so much stuff being dumped on eBay to try to claw back costs.

Spongebobette · 28/04/2019 11:41

How much does it cost per month to have Forever Living Host 'your' website?
@Doraexplorer99 do you know?

Mielabel · 28/04/2019 12:45

@Spongebobette I had to pay £10 a month for my basic FLP website and the ability to sell products online, an extra £10 for the slightly better 360 website (with slightly different benefits so you had to get both) and an extra £3 a month for some sort of app on my phone, can't remember exact details but these were all required. Add in the HUGE pressure to attend weekly BPs and regular events held in other cities (basically if you don't go you are looked down upon as lazy and the mentor will stop helping you as you are a lost cause) and the pressure to buy 1CC (over £100) of products yourself each month and you have a huge money drain...

Don't do these and you are basically ostracised.

Spongebobette · 28/04/2019 13:28

So, you have to make £23 in profit every month purely to meet the cost of the website. That's a couple of sales of aloe products presumably

Bet she doesn't count this as an actual cost, but as an 'investment'

Forever Living are laughing all the way to the bank. A steady stream of around 25 quid from every bot every month, money for old rope.

gotmychocolateimgood · 28/04/2019 13:49

Yawn thinks she is already a jeans size smaller on day 2 of the c9. Her skin is better and she's thinking more clearly.
Hmmmm.

UnapologeticallyUnhinged · 28/04/2019 14:20

Yawn looks like she is doing damage limitation?

SnoogyWoo · 28/04/2019 14:25

In what way?

Jigsawpuzzle · 28/04/2019 14:51

Wow I hope her bosses/HR do not see Nurse bots latest. Golden rule is that you never slag off employers, by all means mutter quietly under your breath. I hope she realises that it could ruin her career.

Paddy1234 · 28/04/2019 14:52

All the top bots are pushing the clean 9 and doing them at the moment. How many have actually forked out to do them ..........

Jb291 · 28/04/2019 15:03

Does anyone else think that the UK has to be absolutely saturated with Mlms. It's not just FL, it's Younique, it's Nuskin, it's Juiceplus, Mary Kay, Scentsy, Herbalife. There must be loads of others and surely it must soon reach a point where they all implode because there are only a finite number of people in the country. The anti mlm movement is really helping to make people aware of the gutter tactics used to recruit victims. The documentary was great in that it really highlighted the fact that very very few people actually make money from these "businesses". Those that do make money are just doing so on the backs of other people.

Norma27 · 28/04/2019 16:01

I really hope nursebot doesn’t burn her bridges with her actual job which pays her money.

Whiterangey · 28/04/2019 16:07

Nurses whine about things like how overstretched the NHS is, low wages as well, but they never whine about not being satisfied with their job. You don't go into nursing for the pay, you go into it because you have a calling to help people.

I'm sure she doesn't mean what she wrote but it's an important part of mlm that the mlm is better than any real work so that is what she put because she is brainwashed. I hope she doesn't get into trouble for it.

SnoogyWoo · 28/04/2019 16:21

Im starting to lose respect for nurse bot with that post, it really shows a lack of awareness.

Spongebobette · 28/04/2019 16:24

Yes
It's one thing to say I'm doing this 'business' as a way of making a bit of extra money for me and my son but she's moved beyond that now to 'its the only thing I want to do'

MeltedEggMum · 28/04/2019 16:29

Does anyone know anything about Kyani stuff? Another mlm, it looks like to me.

SnoogyWoo · 28/04/2019 16:34

As I have said before... running my own business it really grates on me when they say they have/running their own businesses. They have not got a clue what it really takes!!!!!

gotmychocolateimgood · 28/04/2019 16:54

Broke is on Mlm lies exposed on fb arguing with someone whose friend died of cancer. He is insisting that cbd oil cures cancer. He seems to have forgotten where he is posting as well as completely losing the plot over his crappy product. Unbelievable

gotmychocolateimgood · 28/04/2019 17:04

Dang, he is getting FLAMED
