Hi everyone I am miles away from my due date yet but cant help but worry about money. The job i have doesnt pay outside of the statutory maternity allowance and that on top of tax credits i will just be able to afford my rent and car for the month never mind anything else. Is there anything i can claim to get help with this? As far as I know I'll only be able to get maternity and tax credits. Me and babys father are not together and I'm sure he would help me as much as he can but I'll be around £700 down from what I would usually get from my full time working wage. Can anyone offer any advice apart from start saving? I wont be able.to move in with family members before I go back to work as they do not have the room and I wouldn't get anything if I were to live with someone else. Please help

Thanks

It is not a case of him helping as he can, he is expected to pay regularly via cms. You may get housing benefit/ council tax benefit if renting ( apply for a single person reduction)plus child benefit around £20 pw

Your TCs will go up as your income goes down- keep updating them (ie when your income changes, when the baby is born etc)
