We have a large 4 bedroom house. 6 people living in it. We have a hot tub in the garden that is used most evenings (obviously this uses quite a bit of electric) we are paying £173 pm for gas and electric. Does that sound about right?

Yes. I would expect a regularly used hot to to cost a fair whack.

We have a 6 bed with a large mega flo tank and a commercial water pump as have 5 bathrooms and a loo. I. Would think.ghat probably equals the hot tub. We pay £220 a month so I think that is quite good!

That’s cheap with hot tub and 4 beds, I pay £85 for 2 bed 2 up 2 down.

Ok that’s good! We’ve only lived here for a couple of months so it may well go up or down but happy that it doesn’t seem OTT! Thanks

Actually that sounds like reasonable value but it all depends on how much energy you use. We have a 5 bed house but it is an old Victorian house and very poorly insulated so our usage is astronomical. I'm on a competitive tariff but even so we pay £290 pm. Our elec usage has gone up huge since our son came back from uni last summer. I've just switched to Shell Energy using this comparison site www.energyscanner.com. Got a decent saving plus 100% renewable electiricity and no exit penalty so can switch again if a better deal comes along. So no your bills don't sound bad but that doesn't mean you've got a good deal. Could also be that your bills are estimated and you're paying a lot less than you are actually using in which case there could be a nasty shock around the corner. Just saying it's best to check to be safe.

Just quoting what you pay a month doesn't really tell us anything.
What's your unit price for gas and electricity?
