Someone tried to use my card - what else do I need to do

Natwest alerted me to some purchases that weren't me. For petrol and some other things. I have cancelled the card, those transactions were denied, I have scanned laptop etc. What else do I do?

The only thing I can think of is the local taxi service I use, I have paid by card a lot when I was ill and going back and forth for treatment and gave my debit card number etc for the payment. They are quite a big local firm. I feel stupid and won't risk that again. I have no proof but I have never had any issues like this and have hardly used my card due to my circumstances the past year.

Anyway rambled on a bit there, does anyone have any tips to prevent this? I always thought I was quite good at keeping an eye on everything - I run scans and don't store card info, I only keep a bit in the card I use for shopping. Should I use a pre-paid card for shopping? Maybe I'm being a bit dramatic, just had a lot going on. Thanks for any tips.

Nothing else you can do..not necessary the taxi company. If you used an atm your card could of been cloned..I had that a few years ago. Make sure you cover your pin when using your card & don't let it out of your site.
