Change in circumstances during tax year Tax credits and HB income

Hi
I became a single parent in September 2018. I now receive Tax credits and Housing benefit. When I applied for these I gave my current monthly income, my wages etc. I've just looked at my March 2019 payslip and got myself in a panic. Before I seperated I earned some overtime back in the early part of 2018, my work is seasonal and I haven't done any overtime since July 2018 and am unlikely to do any in the coming year. So my march (end of year) payslip shows this overtime and my total gross income for 2018/2019 is approx £1900 more than my part time gross basic salary for the year.

My question is, will this overtime that I earned before I separated make any difference to my benefits when I fill in any end of tax year forms for tax credits etc? In the coming year I'm probably going to be back to the basic salary again.

Yes it will make a difference to HB - pop your last three wage slips in ASAP so they can see them, though it may have been highlighted already, it’s always your responsibility to do Changes
