Ex has bad credit

Hi, I have split up with my ex and the mortgage is in my name.
I am trying to get a new mortgage for myself but as my ex has bad credit Can't take over the mortgage.
This is affecting how much I can get for my own mortgage.
What can I do?

Ah well that is my last resort, My daughter lives with my ex so was hoping to not have to sell.
