Is anyone else having trouble logging in? I have applied 3 times for the activation code and still not received it by post. They are threatening to fine me if I haven;t logged in - yet they have not sent me the code. What else can I do?????

Ring HMRC and try to speak to a human! They can action the request for the code over the phone. Unfortunately you'll still have to wait for it to arrive in the post I think.

Phone them, you will have to wait ages on hold probably but when you actually speak to a person they are normally very helpful, ime

They action it, but nothing arrives!

You receive I your think it's called UTR number in the post. Then there is another code that I receive on my mobile phone which changes when I login each time

Dimsumlosesum · 14/02/2019 08:55

I did the same last year, never received a code so had to go through via gov.verify.

Ridingthegravytrain · 14/02/2019 08:58

Do you mean the code to access your account once you have out in your gateway number and password? If so I have always just received mine via text message as I’m logging in.

Even when I set up the account I never needed a paper copy for log in purposes.

Are they maybe sending it via email and it’s going to spam, or even via landline and your number has changed or anything? (Clutching at straws!)

You can opt to get it sent to a mobile. It's active for a week.

I don't know if the letter ones are only active for a week but if your post is held up or you don't log in the day you get it that might be the issue ?

Mine got sent to an old address. That I haven't lived in for over 10years and even though I get all other letters from them. Maybe check it is going to the right address?
