The continuing crusade to expose the underhand tactics used to lure (mainly) women into exploitative schemes using the lure of 'financial independence'.

Yawn is getting worse as she gets more and more desperate. I had reason recently to put in a huge complement about a nurse. They are awesome anyway but this nurse went over and above what could possibly be expected of her. She also finished her shift nearly 3 hours late. Though that is very common.

Yawn will stop at nothing, she has no conscience at all. Now she is trying to exploit the deaf community. As has already been said they are deaf, not stupid and hate to be patronised.

She needs to go for the disabled next. Find someone in a wheelchair so she can wheel them on stage.

@JellycatElfie - That's a big fat yes - FM World.

I’m new to (avoiding) this but a work colleague is doing it. How does it work? I know they’re rubbish but how exactly do mlm schemes work? Sorry to sound ignorant but I really want to understand (so I can avoid myself!)

spanfan · 13/02/2019 20:55

So, I've read about castle sister's dolls. What's the truth about the company?.

She says they're closing down and they are number one brand at a high end shop.

If they are that good why close the business?

Anyone got any info without the smoke and mirrors?

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 13/02/2019 21:04

Don't know Spanfan but she also implied that they (her family) have big changes afoot when she advertised her house for sale Hmm

notsurewhatshappening · 13/02/2019 21:13

Is valentus still operating? An advert came up on my local FB group saying thus:
Slim roast coffee, comes in a varietie (sic) of flavors. Boosts mood, regulates metabolism and burns fat!!!

Bollox.

Bovneydazzlers · 13/02/2019 21:14

That's a real shame about the doll business.

A proper business not an MLM.

It won't be the first business to have sales success but to have cash flow and profit problems forcing it to close.

I see the dad's business has taken a huge amount of cash out of his long standing company this year... hope the family are protecting themselves financially and not relying on future Forever Living gains.

Whiterangey · 13/02/2019 22:29

The company has been making huge losses. She put more effort into FL than she did into the dolls because she has her eyes on the easy money from FL.

The doll company is closing its doors 2 days before accounts are due to be filed at companies house. There was a post a while ago about her selling the business, I'm guessing nobody wanted it. I wouldn't be shocked if it's gone into insolvency.

Whiterangey · 14/02/2019 08:19

Forgot to add that there is a charge on the accounts, looks like a mortgage to my untrained eyes. Could that be why she is selling the house?

YouokHun · 14/02/2019 09:07

@spongebobette my American Botwatch friends tell me that Monat is about to launch a pet range containing substances dangerous to dogs and fatal to cats. I’m waiting to hear a bit more. I follow a Doterra ‘vet’ FB Page where I frequently feel compelled to abandon my ‘pro MLM’ persona to screech, ‘FFS just take that poor animal to a proper vet you fucking idiot’.

Whiterangey · 14/02/2019 09:14

That makes me feel sick. They will end up being sued into oblivion but only after many animals have died or been made sick.

The monat bots will be the first to try it out on their pets and may even try to blame illness and death on other causes.

Twentytwentyhindsight · 14/02/2019 10:09

The Monat bots will be able to repurpose their dead pets as fur hats to cover the bald patches caused by the shampoo.

9dartfinish2nd · 14/02/2019 10:34

How the fuck do they get products with stuff like this in it approved for retail in the first place?

Don't know anyone in Monat personally but I have a serious dislike for them having read a number of victims accounts of hair loss on the Sounds Like MLM but ok FB group.

Haven't they got enough class action lawsuits to deal with with just now?

PerryPerryThePlatypus · 14/02/2019 12:00

Lots of secret groups calling out Messiah and his first round of disciples. Screenshots of bullying and questionable direction. From someone still under his leadership but she is planning on jumping ship and taking as many as she can with her.

Twentytwentyhindsight · 14/02/2019 12:10

@PerryPerryThePlatypus - Will she deny him three times before the rooster crows, or take 30 pieces of silver to traduce him?

Thanks for the background on Castle sis. I suppose it proves that real life business is very hard.

Spongebobette · 14/02/2019 12:44

Excellent summary Dora

JellycatElfie · 14/02/2019 16:20

Thank you for explaining that to me!

Is the body shop at home considered a mlm too? I have someone on Facebook who is constantly saying join my team, I’m a manager, work from home etc. I’ve alsp brought a few things off her because I get free delivery but I’d never want to sign up (although she has asked, lol)

I have someone else offering me FM products and someone else offering me Herbalife!!! How much money do they actually make? I’m constantly being told I’m away at a conference in a beautiful hotel, I get feee gifts etc. It all sounds too good to be true!!

9dartfinish2nd · 14/02/2019 16:58

If you have a Netflix subscription then watch Betting on Zero as it's all about Herbalife.

Less than 1% make the big money, after that a handful and I mean a handful do ok with rest being absolute cannon fodder who think they are on the fastrack to success but whose real part in the business is only to keep top of the pile bots getting richer and richer.

Add in Mindset training and Law of Attraction headfuckery then you have some seriously damaged people who then eventually wake up and smell the coffee (Not Valentus's though) and leave the industry mentally and financially broken, possibly having alienated friends and family and even put a strain on relations with a spouse or partner.

Most bots in the past tended to just disappear and forget about their experiences, but more and more are now coming forward to speak out against these companies and the backlash is rapidly gaining momentum. Thankfully the media are now strating to take serious notice of the predatory nature of MLM companies and the lives that are being ruined as a result.

Twentytwentyhindsight · 14/02/2019 17:00

@JellycatElfie - One if the first thing people are taught when they join an MLM is the importance of "attraction marketing" (also known as "fake it 'TIL you make it).

The idea is that you project an exciting and desirable lifestyle on social media, which you put down to the company you're 'blessed' to work for.

Bots are known to hang around posh car dealerships in order to have a picture taken next to a flash model for just this purpose. Another trick is to let everyone believe that anything good you might have is thanks to the MLM (rather than a high-earning spouse, an inheritance, or, god forbid, an actual JOB).

As for the exciting 'business trips', apart from those at the very top, they are entirely self-funded. The hapless bot usually has to pay for a ticket to the 'event', on top of travel, accommodation and other expenses.

My OH used to post about such 'glamorous' events as though they were a benefit for working for an amazing company. The reality was that she'd spend at least a couple of hundred quid for the weekend, and end up sharing a bed in a premier in with a 'team mate' she barely knew in order to keep costs down.

The actual events are repetitive brainwashing sessions where you are encouraged to scream a lot and marvel at the success of those at the top. They don't even provide tea & coffee.

Hunbot · 14/02/2019 17:31

I am a self employed mortgage advisor and am wondering if maybe I should run my business the same way as yawn et al

Take a selfie with clients and post it on facebook.
Get clients to pay me with a cheque so I can photograph it and put it on my wall to show how successful I am.
Crying with gratitude because a lender now offers 1000 cashback to first time buyers
Taking a picture of me next to a posh car and telling people how much money I earn.
Recruit other mortgage advisors to compete against me for the same customers.
Go to network conferences and not only not get free training but have to pay for it all and spend the whole time having people who are more successful than me paraded out in front of me.

Surely this will work - I mean it seems to be the way to do business these days

Spongebobette · 14/02/2019 17:49

Spot on, hunbot!

PerryPerryThePlatypus · 14/02/2019 18:09

Twenty oh she will do both. On one hand I feel sorry for her, she was sucked in during a very vulnerable time but on the other hand she's no qualms about sucking in people who literally don't have two pennies to rub together. She hates Messiah, has done from the start.
