@JellycatElfie - One if the first thing people are taught when they join an MLM is the importance of "attraction marketing" (also known as "fake it 'TIL you make it).
The idea is that you project an exciting and desirable lifestyle on social media, which you put down to the company you're 'blessed' to work for.
Bots are known to hang around posh car dealerships in order to have a picture taken next to a flash model for just this purpose. Another trick is to let everyone believe that anything good you might have is thanks to the MLM (rather than a high-earning spouse, an inheritance, or, god forbid, an actual JOB).
As for the exciting 'business trips', apart from those at the very top, they are entirely self-funded. The hapless bot usually has to pay for a ticket to the 'event', on top of travel, accommodation and other expenses.
My OH used to post about such 'glamorous' events as though they were a benefit for working for an amazing company. The reality was that she'd spend at least a couple of hundred quid for the weekend, and end up sharing a bed in a premier in with a 'team mate' she barely knew in order to keep costs down.
The actual events are repetitive brainwashing sessions where you are encouraged to scream a lot and marvel at the success of those at the top. They don't even provide tea & coffee.
