Is there a breakdown of payments? Have you paid more or less than you owe?

dementedpixie · 28/01/2019 21:36

Is it a discount on the bill?

MrsMoastyToasty · 28/01/2019 21:38

Can you show us the bill with the personal details blocked out?
I look at council tax bills on a daily basis as part of my job.

I work in Council Tax. It means your account is in credit. Have you moved house mid year and only just told them, or made an over payment?

You are in credit probably due to the Council Tax Support credit. Ring and they could maybe be able to refund you

dementedpixie · 28/01/2019 22:38

Are you on a low income or claim certain benefits as that's what council tax support payments relate to?

Aprilshowersarecomingsoon · 28/01/2019 22:42

My dd was similarly in credit after her one person discount hadn't been applied. She was reimbursed Christmas week!!
You can insist on a refund not just have it taken off the next bill.

Adiza · 28/01/2019 22:46

Thank you all fir your respond. I was on maternity leave and was supposed to get extra discount but got tired of providing the documents they needed so ended up paying the initial bill, probably that’s why.

If you want the money they have to refund you.
