Advice needed re going back to work & UC/benefits

I am currently claiming income support as a lone parent, my youngest has just started nursery and I have had an offer of work but it’s only for 12.5 hours a week (but the opportunity for more hours in the future, I’m trained in this area so good career development)
My question is how this would effect my existing benefits, I know under the old rules I’d just lose the income support (and the amount I earn would equal about the same) but because it’s under 16 hours there’d be no working tax credits just stay on CTax

But would a move into work trigger me onto Universal credit?
I really want to take the job but I’m also worried as I have no savings and a move onto UC would leave me with no money for up to 5 weeks (my energy is paid for by pre payment meter too)
Any advice would be appreciated

Yes, going into work will trigger a switch to UC in most areas now.

I'm not sure whether it will trigger going onto UC as you are not needing to make a new claim for anything. probably best to speak to CAB or similar.

Thanks both, I have tried to get through to speak to someone at DWP they weren’t really any help just parroting that as long as I satisfy the conditions I would stay on income support but entitled to works me out as losing income support
they’ve said I need to ring tax credits and check whether they would require me to move onto UC
Will give them a ring shortly but i feel like I’m going around in circles asking the same questions
