Universal Credits help

Hi guys, me and my partner are claiming universal credits and we have one child together, he has just had a promotion and will get £17550 a year doing 37.5 hours a week, I am currently bank staff as a care assistant and work as and when they need me (around 2/3 shifts a month), now I am looking at getting a job around 30-37 hours a week and I am just wondering is there a limit on the most you can earn a month where you won't get help with childcare costs as it will be around £7-800 a month for childcare,

I am just trying to work out whether we will be better off both of us working full time or him full time and me part time

You claim the childcare element of UC the same as any other elements you are entitled to. As I understand it you get 85% of your childcare costs up to a maximum and then that amount becomes another Uc element . Your joint wages then reduce your total Uc ( all the elements added together). Whether you get anything will depend on the total of all your elements added together - rent, couples element, child element and childcare element. For example if your childcare cost is £200 a month then your childcare element will be 85% of that which is £170. there do seem to be a lot of problems though with childcare being paid back / people having to upload invoices / receipts etc.
