Ready to put a offer on council tax arrears about 700 behind please don't judge had hard time think I can only afford 80pm on budget will they accept??

Are you in receipt of all benefits?

What about your current CT payments? Are you managing those?

Call them and make an offer.

Is everything else okay? With finances?

If not, call Stepchange/CAB and arrange a meeting.

They may ask you to do some form of welfare pack and may ask for you to include all your ongoings and outgoings and then make a decision from their. The main thing is to open up a dialogue with them and make sure they are aware you want to get this sorted. They want the debt paid as much as you want to get it sorted

If you are keeping up with your current instalments, then £80 on top would clear the arrears in less than 10 months. You could also use the two months in Feb and March without CTax payments to pay the £80 plus what would have been a normal instalment to clear the debt faster.

I'm with a debt management for debts from ex but I'm lucky to have 80pm extra is about all I can afford I'll gladly do income and expenditure had a death in family expenses from that

Go and see the council or phone them up to make a special arrangement, ask what they can do when your new bill in March comes out? Can they add them all together- do you get paid weekly, monthly fortnightly? Make sure your payments coincide with when you get paid. Council tax you can make weekly, fortnightly and monthly pYments over 12 months

Also seek help from citizen advice if you have other debts
