made a bill payment by debit card. Not received but my.account has been debited?!

I made a bill payment today, out my card details in, then got a blank page with no confirmation. No email confirmation either.

My bank has debited the £500 from my account, but it hasn't been received by the company i paid. I called both my bank and the company i paid, and it's with neither!

Has anyone had this happen? I'm panicking a bit now.

This is the bank's responsibility.
They have taken money out of your account.
Where have they sent it?
Go into a branch and make a scene

If you only paid today it probably hasn’t been received? They probably sweep payments/ do the bank reconciliation a couple of times a day to handle queries like yours. If it hadn’t been received after 24 hours I would query it.

The money doesn't get received instantly. It will be in the ether just now. What were you ordering

Making a scene with a branch member would be pointless when they weren't involved in the payment

What bill was it? It could take a few days to apply it to the correct account
