Help for anyone who is struggling to get money before Christmas, who is on UC my son has to wait until 15th January ,had no money for over a month and none this month because of a mix up with UC nd ESA

This information does not apply to UC. people are posting it everywhere on facebook forums for Uc and it just doesn't apply.

This only applied for people still on legacy benefits not on UC.

But

People can go to there council and apply for DHP although this takes a while... at least it may help further down the line

You only get DHP if you've previously been on Housing benefit. You can't claim it on UC. I think this is correct though, not 100% sure.

I will look into it, but you can get food vouchers from them as my other son got some for Tescos

Babyroobs what are legacy benefits ? never heard of them

You can claim DHP from your district council if you are on UC and you don’t need to have claimed HB previously
