Just sent off my DMP.. experiences?

Just sent everything back to StepChange to start my DMP. Praying my 4 creditors agree to it. So mortified I got myself in this mess. So angry at myself for spending my days crying about the debt I'm in rather than being excited for the baby I have on the way right now.

Just praying it's all worth it. Has anyone done this before?

@Rose1213 it's perfectly understandable. You're on the right path now to getting rid of all debt and StepChange are amazing! Look forward to the birth of little one :) congratulations

Yes...been in one for years...its brilliant. And they have to accept the offers given. Legally you can offer a £1 and they have to accept. Obviously you don't, because it takes longer to pay off. You can also change the amount you give to the DMP company, if you're struggling. Hence why I'm still in mine !!! Not long to go now though

Op, myself and dh had a dmp with stepchange. I remember when we started it it was so much money we owed and it seemed so far off that we’d comw to the end of it. This month we paid our last ever payment!!! And we now have both got great credit scores to boot.

Thanks all, I've got £13k to pay off and at the moment they've quoted me 3 years and 10 months to be debt free. I know I'll have to reduce my payment once mat leaves starts so it will take longer but just seeing those words made me so relieved.

I earn £600 per month and have been paying £738 in debts (extra borrowed off partner) and I can't seem to process how I'm actually going to have some spare money every month. Hoping all my creditors accept and things go smoothly.
