Hello parents Smile

My wage currently is £18,893. If I go to a job where the salary is £16,000, would I get a little more UC as I would be taking a pay cut.

I'm just not sure!!

Thank you Biscuit

Yes if your monthly take home pay is less you will get more UC. Would you still be working the number of hours you need to for your commitments?

The calculation to work out how much you get is wages minus £198 ( assuming you rent and have kids ) x0.63. This is the amount that your total UC amount is reduced by. Your total UC amount should be on your Uc statement.

I have no clue how to work it out. I do rent and have 1 child (5yr old) I just don't want to risk taking a pay cut and UC wouldn't cover most of the loss that's all. If I rung them and asked what could I get, would they be able to tell me? I'm sure not sure how to work it out Blush Might be me being a bit thick xx
