Childcare costs and government contrivitiin

I’m new to this
Under the tax credit system and will be for at least next few months.

I have submitted costs and three days later I check and my CTC has increased.

However i have not had to “prove” anything. It worries me. Will they write to ask for evidence if payment and, if they do, what do I need to provide?

I haven’t exaggerated! But I don’t go through a payroll scheme and my nanny (ofsted registered) is below the tax threshold so I just transfer payment to her weekly. But I keep meticulous records

Thanks

You don’t.

HMRC have way to many claims and not enough staff to verify all child care cost proofs.

They do reviews to try to catch the people that over declare.

Good heavens
Just seems that in click of fingers they’re giving me extra £300 a month.

Makes me feel nervous. Will continue with meticulous record keeping!
