UC application and divorce settlement money

I am about to receive a lump sum from my divorce. It will be used as a deposit on a new build on a development which is in the early stages of being built. I have a plot reserved. Probably won't move in until June at the earliest. I work but things are tight. I receive no maintenance as my ex husband has our dc 50-50. So the money is going to be sitting there untouched waiting for such a time as I have to pay the deposit. So I am not going to be able to claim Universal Credit am I while I have that capital....I think it's about to be rolled out in my area in the new year. Suppose I am posting this in the hope that someone might know something I don't... I don't know...

They can disregard the capital for a period of time if it is earmarked for another house deposit. I think it may be 6 or 12 months.
