Universal credit

We currently get tax credits and working tax credits. DH works I am SAHM
My daughter has just been awarded DLA and I have applied for carers allowance.
I have just read that the application for carers allowance may trigger universal credit. I am in a full service area.
If it does can I stop the application or will the dla trigger it anyway?
We will be over £100 worst off on universal credit and this will cancel out the dla money. Sad

Don't worry, you're not affected.

If you were claiming CA and that entitled you to income support or another legacy benefit, then you would need to claim UC. If you're remaining on TC then the claim will not be migrated.

Phew, thank you. I felt sick for a moment then. Smile

Carers allowance is not part of Uc and it wont trigger a move. Things that would trigger a move would be a new application for one of the benefits that Uc replaces.
