A daft question re cheques

Oddly I've never actually put a cheque in my bank account before wonder if somebody could answer me a question.
Hypothetically if:
The cheque amount was £150 and it says on my account clearing on the 9th.
And my account balance is £500 does this include the £150 or will my bank balance become £650 when its cleared.
Sorry for the daft question

I would say it includes the £150. Mine appears straight away to my available balance. Can’t you check your statement?

Depends on your account OP - some accounts have instant access to cheques up to a certain value - some don't. HTH

I thought it included thanks for answering my question:-)

You normally have a balance and an available balance. The cheque would normally be included the balance and if it was not available that would be taken into account in the available balance e.g
Balance £650
Available balance £500
The difference = £150 Which would be the uncleared cheque
