Tax credits still not removed childcare

I called tax credits to tell them my DS has stopped going to childminders. I did this as soon as he stopped going! They acknowledged it and a couple of weeks later, my tax credit entitlement changed but seems like I am still getting too much money? And under the childcare element section, both childminders he was going to are still listed, and shows how much they both cost per week! I told them weeks ago he no longer goes there. I rang them again and they said it will not update until November time, which is fine but that means I've been getting too much money which I am guessing I will have to pay back! Is that how it will work? I am worried it is all going to backfire.

Put the money to one side, as you know it’s to much. Then when they recalculate you’ll have the money ready to pay back or use for living if they deduct from benefit
