We have been trying to get everything sorted since March, we found "our" house we really want, and found a buyer for our current house so everything looked rosy!

Surveys...both fine, didn't want to pay out for searches until we had mortgage offer though (as didnt want to risk us not getting the mortgage).

The mortgage has been a slog, mortgage was our first point of call back in the beginning of March, we are using a mortgage consultant based in a local estate agents they use counrtywide as their own broker and the mortgage co is Preferred Mortgages.

First of all the mortgage consultant only works Thurs & Fri's which has dragged it out, so i took it upon myself to chase it up when she wasn't in the office.

I was told last thurs by countrywide that they had the mortgage offer and everything was fine so i have gone ahead and paid for searches which will be completed for next week, have just phoned up the mortgage consultant (EA) and we haven't had the mortgage offer, they have asked for more info, even though i actually spoke to her last thurs and she confirmed it had been completed. So 2 people told me we had the mortgage ready to go and everything was fine, i have been waiting the last week for something to come in the post and only phoned to chase up the confirmation!

I AM SO MAD!!!

can you change your mortgage broker? Or is it too late.

Bit sloppy imo. (her not you)

Too late i think, we are looking to complete in about 3 weeks, so annoyed, i strongly stated that i wanted the offer of mortgage first

God bet my BP is through the roof atm!

House moving/buying is stressful at the best of times.

Its lovely when you get people who want to fuck it up just that little bit more.

I hope it all goes alright for you. Remember once you are in your new house you can forget about all of this

Get your solicitor to put pressure on them. The sol. won't let you exchange contracts without a written mortgage offer so they'll usually be happy to pick up the phone and hurry things up.
