"We haven't got all the details, but we don't know what details we want from you. Oh, and you've got to pay for our incompetence."

Sympathetic shrieeeeeeek.

nomdeplume · 15/06/2007 10:07

tax credits are a joke full stop from what I can gather, and not a very funny one

We aren't entitled to them and, quite frankly, I'm glad. The shit people have gone through at the hands of an incompetent system is shocking.

charliecat · 15/06/2007 10:07

Its so stupid its...oh..oh its just inbelivable. I dlove to give you the information but I cant if you dont tell me what you want FGS.

newlifenewname · 15/06/2007 10:07

I think you should not put down the phone until they tell you what details they want. Arses.

charliecat · 15/06/2007 10:12

Im off the phone now. I will ring in a few days if i dont get somethign saying that claim is completed.
How fecking hard can it be.
Green for complete, red for missing information? Scroll up and down page to find?????????????????????????

I have had the same problem this year, I phoned them 6 weeks ago with my final figures (carers allowence only) on income support. Hadn;t heard from them so phoned and they had that DH had 1 job, but with no hours and no pay and the figures I gave them as approx.. so it wasn't completed..

expatinscotland · 15/06/2007 10:20

They're a damn joke and IMO, they penalise the working poor at every tour.

Bananaknickers · 15/06/2007 10:25

we are still paying every month back money they gave us that we were not meant to have. we don't get anything now and have to pay some back till Christmas. We didn't know they were overpaying and they sent us a charming letter December last year asking for their money.I know people that owe thousands due to their cock ups

MegaLegs · 15/06/2007 10:31

We owe them loads due to cock up. They overpaid us. I informed them, they said no that was the backdated amount we were owed it was ours. Two months later we hear it was a cock up and they want it all back. We won't have any payments for about two years now.

The last annual review pack they sent said that DH had earnt some huge sum and that we had no children!! (DH does ok and we have 4 boys)

We've also just had another payment as ds4 gets DLA. I haven't touched it as I'm sure they will be asking for it back in a week or two.

We are lucky, we do OK moneywise but I am angry at what this mess does to families on low or no income - the money they gave us would have helped someone out big time.

tibsy · 15/06/2007 10:41

we owe them too due to their mistake. i've lost count of the times i phoned the idiots with changes of details too.
last year when dd was born, they inputted her twice! yes, ok, i could have twin girls, but to call them both the same name would have been ridiculous ffs

a friend of mine is absolutely paranoid about being in debt to anyone after being so in the past. when she was told that she owed them (a small amount) she cancelled all claims so as to pay them back and not owe anymore.

expatinscotland · 15/06/2007 10:42

The threat of more debt also keeps us from claiming any more, too, tib

bobsyouruncle · 15/06/2007 11:15

I'm a bit worried about this as we got a biggish payment from them last year as they said we'd been underpaid. Have horrible feeling they may say it was a mistake & ask for it back... But all our details are correct on the forms & nothings changed for us so that's unlikely isn't it, reassure me please!?

NuttyMuffins · 15/06/2007 11:24

I've just had a letter too, saying they haven't recieved my forms for this year. I posted them over 3 weeks ago but they don't have them.

Same thing happened last year.

charliecat · 15/06/2007 11:27

Yes, they said when did you post the forms? Er WEEKS ago>>???!!

OP posts:
sparklygothkat · 15/06/2007 11:32

Its like DS's DLA forms, I posted them 4 weeks ago, they have only just got them, and it will take 15 weeks to process them, his DLA runs out in 3 weeks

MrsWho · 15/06/2007 20:25

MIne-

I expected to earn 12.500 and actually earnt 10,500 but they have still over paid me

Perigrine · 15/06/2007 20:29

I know that I would get money if I claimed, but I also know that they would cock it up, so haven;t this year. It really pisses me off but at least I don't have to worry about the overpayments!!!

£10,500 is a poverty level wage after NI and tax.

I think ANY system which cocks up payments to someone who makes a poverty line wage is a crock of shit.

MrsWho · 15/06/2007 21:09

I din't think is was that bad (though TC help me live)
