Hi all my first post here or in fact on any mums group I'm 32 and have 2 sons
I'm really worried it's my sons birthday on Thursday and I have nothing my partner lost his job and is trying his best to get another one we were also in receipt of universal credit which topped up wages .HOwever they work a month behind and are basing our payment this month on last months wages and were entitled to next to nothing I've tried to get advances etc with them but where not entitled .i have tried loans but have bad credit I feel absolutely disgusting that I've failed like this I have barely any food left and because he lost his job last month we have been to the food bank already and they say we have used our allowance .has any one any ideas I have nothing to sell universal credit are saying I'm owed £56 which has to last a month on the 23rd but that's on Monday so I'm a little stumped what to do
Sorry if this isn't allowed

Just to add my partner has a few interviews lined up I'm currently not working as my son is on the neuro pathway and has a lot of struggles and I'm needed a lot of the time at his school etc.
Thankyou x

Hi and welcome to Mumsnet @mumofboys32.
I’ve only just seen your post but did you manage to find something on Thursday?
Regarding your longer financial situation, have you considered applying for dla / pip for your son? You don’t need a diagnosis but instead you need evidence of the issues he has and the impact of his day to day living. With that it’ll then show how much extra help he needs. If he does get this then you’ll then hopefully qualify for carers allowance. It’s not masses but it should help.
