Afternoon! Wondered if anyone knew how this works? I have savings for the children to help towards costs of Uni later on. However if these savings are taken into account it would take me over the 16k amount. They are in a bare trust and I am one of 3 trustees so its not like I can gain access to the money ( I wouldn't want to anyone as its for the kids future). Can anyone help?

It should be ok if in a trust fund solely in the kids names. why are you making a claim for UC. if you wait to be migrated across to Uc I think you will be protected from this savings rule anyway.
