Child tax credits

Has anyone recently applied for child tax credits? I know it states it can take around 4 weeks or something like that but was wondering if anyone has received them sooner? Also does anyone know how far they will back date them? Tia

I think it's only one month they will backdate. 4 weeks sounds about right. Are you definitely in an area that is still taking new applications for tax credits as many areas are now full service for UC ( Universal credit ).

That's such a long wait and yeah my area hasn't changed to universal credits or anything just yet
