Today OH has received a PCN from smart parking.
They want £60 if we pay in 14 days £100 if we dont.
Do we appeal?
Reason for appealing is we bought a ticket that expired at 16.55 and then show us leaving on camera at 16.55.08 so 8 seconds late! However they show us entering at 13.52 and 42 seconds. Unfortunately as much as I am very time critical I have to confess that I dont now what time we got in the car park and how long it took us to get a space and find change and get to the ticket machine and print a ticket. Obviously it must have taken 2 minutes and 18 seconds which perhaps that is excessive but OH says they can't print a ticket saying 13.55 but expect you to pay from when you entered the car park and not allow any time for purchasing a ticket and that if they plan to charge from entry then the ticket should account for this ie every ticket deduct 5 minutes from it so our ticket state 1350 to 1650?
Also £60 is extorniate for 2 minutes 26 seconds late leaving the car park. We were probably back at the car park and loading up five minutes before the 16.55 as I am extremely cautious of receiving a parking fine so always make sure we are back on time.
Do you think for less than 3 minutes we should be challenging it and should we also be writing to the people who own the car par asking them to assist us with challenging it has we were at their site bringing income to them?
Many thanks.
