Il try not to write a novel here....
Recently separated from my husband so Iv moved in to my mums with my two boys, I'm not in a position to need a council house I know I would be at the very bottom of the list, I'm looking at private rent, does anyone know if I can get any housing help with private rent and how long it would take to sort if I do? I work part time if that's relevant.

I know I need to go to the CAB but ours is only open a few hours one day a week and Iv been in work that day the last two weeks, il be able to go next week but it's driving me mad not knowing

As far as I know it varies from council to council. If you give yours a call they should be able to advise.

Firstly you need to know whether you are in a full service Universal credit area. If you are then you would not be able to make a new claim for housing benefit and would have to switch to UC which would include any child tax credits that you get.
