A very warm welcome to the thread @Madawada and thank you so much for sharing your story. Sadly it is very typical and we know that MLMs ruin lives; often ex ‘bots’ just keep quiet about it when they leave because they are ashamed, thinking it’s their own fault that they didn’t make a success of it. That’s one of the ways that MLMs keep on going; new recruits are told not to listen to the ‘neg heads’ and that people who are critical of network marketing have failed in it because they didn’t work hard enough/ give it long enough. SUCH bullshit because the system is, in fact, rigged.
On here we think very badly of ‘leaders’ who use FB to seduce people in and to flaunt a ‘lifestyle ‘
It’s really wicked because they take money from new mums and people who can’t get work, all the time knowing that the likelihood of them making any actual money is close to zero
It’s very very sad seeing posts from newish bots saying they are ‘smashing’ promotions etc etc when it’s all smoke and mirrors
If I had one piece of advice for anyone who’s just joined an MLM it would be this:
Keep very careful and accurate records of all of your expenses in your business, including things like petrol, that coffee/ afternoon tea you bought for a ‘prospect’, leaflets, website costs, success days, product you’ve bought for your ‘launch’ or for samples, EVERYTHING. Also keep a record of the number of hours you spend on your business, training, zoom calls, etc etc and calculate what that is on minimum wage
Keep a record of the profit you have made each month by selling product/ recruiting
If you subtract your costs from the profit and the number is negative, you are losing money.
You could try not counting your labour on minimum wage to see if that results in a better result....but you might still not be making money.
