LISA - I am a first time buyer but DH isn't - can I still use it?

Let's say I open a LISA. DH doesn't have one.

You only get the 25% bonus if you are a first time buyer, which I would be. DH is on the mortgage of another property, bought well before me and nothing to do with me. If we bought a new house together, would I still be able to use my 25% bonus?

Or could I have to buy the house solely in my name?

Same question for a Help to Buy ISA, which also seems to be valid for first time buyers only...

From what I understand I think if you are buying with someone who has already bought a house then you arent a 'first time buyer'. Do you have a mortgage broker? I am sure they would be more knowledgeable.

No you can't- you both have to be first time buyers for a mortgage.. check out Martin Lewis page online as all is there broken down to understand more! Smile
