Best time to start YNAB trial?

End of the month, DH just been paid and I’m thinking it’s a good time to start a trial of YNAB. But we are going on holiday to Cornwall in a weeks time with limited WiFi. So will this bugger the trial up? I really want to start it ASAP. Is it best to do the trial at the start of a month or doesn’t it really matter?

When in the month doesn't matter! If you google you can probably find a 3 month trial, definitely a two month one- in case that helps!
The WiFi being sporadic should be fine too.

It’s a good time. It doesn’t matter when in the month but it is quite satisfying to allocated money at the start of the month to the monthly bills and get them all set up in your budget.
The WiFi doesn’t matter as it will sync when it can and just save everything in the mean time.

Fab! Thanks so much, I will look for a 3 month trial too. Can’t wait. I am losing my maternity allowance in a month so will be down £600 a month all of a sudden so need to budget!

Damn - I just signed up today but only got one month free! Should have searched first. Good luck!

YNAB is brilliant, it has built on things I was already doing with money. The overview you have of everything really helps you to take control of budgeting and planning.

In my new commitment to thriftiness, I emailed them with the 3 month trial link and asked them if they could give me the extra 2 months free - and they did! I am feeling so thrifty :)

Excellent! They come across as a nice bunch. The blog, videos and weekly catch-up emails are useful too.

Just signed up for the 3 month trial - we are currently lurching from catastrophe to disaster (boiler explosion to written off car - not our fault but we are still out of pocket) and unless I get a handle on this, we won't survive the next one... DH is self employed so our income is erratic, and currently we have nothing put by for the tax bill in Jan. So that is my first priority, to get £2k put aside by then...

I suspect this is going to be a painful journey!
