Hi,

If my partner earns £26000 per annum and I do not work, will we be eligible for working tax credit? I have looked everywhere online and I’m just confusing myself!!! 😬🙄

Any help to clear this us would be fab!!

Thanks 😀

Thank you for replying MC and for your help. The thing I don’t understand is that it says we will be getting £0 paid in tomorrow so I don’t understand why they have given me the advance loan payment?! I need to ring up tomorrow as I’m thinking. It may have been awarded as a mistake?!

OMG calm down fgs. It wasn't to put you down. It's not personal. Your OP had literally nothing to do with what you were asking. It's confusing. Provide all the information at the start and it makes things easier for people to help you.

@Jane0123,

So you are due a payment tomorrow?

Your statement therefore would have been issued last week stating what you have been awarded.

When was your advance awarded? First payment is usually around the five week mark. Have you got an online account?

Jane0123 · 19/07/2018 20:56

MC,

This is what I’m confused about! It said online we will be paid £0 tomorrow and has said that for ages so that’s why I thought it was a write off and then all of a sudden I was given the advance loan that I requested of £220 today so not sure what is going on when they’ve said we will be getting £0!

So you've had a statement and your payment is zero?

If you expand under the amount on your payment amount, it should tell you how they've reached their decision.

When did you have your appointment? Must have been weeks ago, as first payment is made within 31 days of claim date.

Jane0123 · 19/07/2018 21:28

Yep, it’s in a blue box and says our payment will be before tomorrow at 8pm and it will be £0. I started the claim about a month ago. I’m just confused! I wouldn’t have thought twice about it if they handed awarded the advance loan!

So how has the £0 been broken down? You should be able to see how they have calculated the £0. Can you see this? Your first payment to pay back the advance will be on there.

Jane0123 · 19/07/2018 23:47

I’ve sent you an inbox message MC. Honestly, thank you for your help!! 😀

Have they given the loan before realising you're not entitled due to salary perhaps? I can only think that is why they might do this.

Mc180768 · 21/07/2018 16:25

Hi @LovelyBath77,

That's exactly what's happened. They've had the application, and the earnings have been submitted. The advance payment will be demanded in the next assessment phase.

As the earnings will outweigh any entitlement, Jane will have to make alternative arrangements to repay the advance loan.

Jane, your UC account will remain open for 6 months and should your income drop below the level, then you may qualify for something, if no change to your income, the account will be closed.
