I am still waiting for my apt to have my assessment. It's been 13 weeks since I first did application. Is it supposed to be so long?

Think you should have heard something by now OP. I would ring DWP and ask if I were you. We got a call within a couple of weeks for our DD's face to face and everything was over and done with within three months from start to finish. Good luck.

I did call last week and they said just have to wait for apt and couldnt tell me when it will be

It is very variable how long it takes depending on the area you live in.

My dads claim took nearly 6 months from beginning to end. Only to be told he couldn't get it in the end!

I think it took at least 3 months for him to get his medical assessment appointment through.

If you have problem with them messing you around you could contact your MP. they have these contacts to help sort things out

MP's can't speed things up, people just have to wait their turn for an assessment. Sometimes people may strike lucky and get a cancellation.

My MP has been really helpful, she managed to get me a home visit when they were saying no on the phone, so they can help sometimes. Maybe it depends on the situation. They have a contact at Atos she said. they also helped in the past when DWP lost appeal decision and taking ages.

It would be Atos / IAS you would need to ring about apps not DWP.
