Switching utilities

I know this sounds silly, but ever since I moved into our first flat we have always been with the same energy supplier. Over the five years we have been with our supplier the price has gone up by approx £35.

Our fixed tarriff ended and when I finally got round to calling them up they said we could only go onto a fixed tarriff if we either a) got a smart meter or b) took out another service with them such as mobile contracts.

I have been looking to switch and can save approx £30 per month switching all our utilities (gas, elec, phone and internet) to First Utility, is it really as easy as they say it is to switch?

I'm just a bit hesitant because it said our previous supplier would send us a final bill. Is this a % of what our usual monthly bill would be depending on the day the switch was made?

Does anyone have any experience with First Utility? Thanks Smile

Hi, your final bill will be for the amount of KWh you use from the date of your previous bill to the final meter read. The new supplier will ask you for a meter read just before they take over and they will provide this to the old supplier so that they can produce a final bill. It really is easy to switch as long as you provide all the info either supplier asks for.

Thank you @0hMyDayz that makes sense!

I feel like a bit of an idiot because I don't know what to do Blush I will ring them tomorrow and then hopefully switch over Grin
