Hi, obviously these keep track of our habits. Mine is very good often max score but then radomly drops for no apparent reason. Barclaycard guy just told me to close accounts I don't use...he mentioned Studio who I ordered 2 kids chairs from in 2013!! So I have closed that one. BUT is there such a thing as a database of all businesses we have accounts with? I can reel off a few like Next, M&S etc that I know I have accounts with & dont use but what about the ones I have completely forgotten? Any ideas?

Your score in non existent. No one sees it apart from you, including lenders.

Basically what you want to be concerned about is your credit history. If you sign up for Expedia / Clearscore or whatever you can download a copy of it. It will show you all the accounts you have had in the last six years, including which ones are closed and which are open.

You want to avoid any missed or late payments on any accounts as these stay on your record for six years and this is what lenders see.
