A PPI question

I took out a CC with Abbey National. At some point they sold (I think) the CC to MBNA.

I’ve contacted MBNA, who have sent forms for a third party company who charge Angry, but can I claim against Abbey National?

TIA

Is abbey national still going? From what I read on mse you claim against the company who bought the cc.

I just did dhs Mbna and it was all online.

Fluffy no, but Abbey National is listed on Which? website.

I tried doing MBNA online but they sent a letter and that included the form from the third party company.

I would have thought the best thing to do would be start a claim with Santander who bought Abbey National as the successor business, and then if they reply saying they aren’t the ones to deal with then try with MBNA. Resolver is a good service to use for PPI, completely free.

I think the Fca would take a dim view of that company who charge.

Santander only paid me back 6 years. Something about not having records going back further. But they do pay. That can be done online, no outside company. I got £700 about 5 years ago for an account I had opened with Abbey National 20 years previous.
