Getting deposit back

I've just moved and we did the check out on the old house last Tuesday 29th May. The agent said he thought it was fine but he'd wait for the landlord seal of approval and tell us if any problems the next day.

Since then we've heard nothing and received no money. We have called them 3-4 times and they never return our calls. I've checked on the deposit on the TDS website and it states 'no disputes in progress'.

I'm getting a bit fed up with it! They've been so good during our tenancy but now they are just ignoring us!

Does anyone have any experience of this? I know they have 10 working days. Who do I contact if I haven't got anything by then?

We had to wait a couple of weeks. Keep chasing them.

Chill out. It hasn’t even been a week.
As you said they have 10 working days (2 weeks) to return it. The agency will have other priorities to attend to, they’re a business with many other clients.

If you don’t have it by cob on the 10th June then call the TDS and tell them you want to claim the deposit back as it hasn’t been refunded.

It has only been 3 working days Confused. Ours has always taken 7-10 working days (and we’ve rented a lot!).

The reason I'm questioning it is because the agency told me I would get it in a day or two.

But thanks for telling me to chill out.

agency is wrong. Many are ignorant hair-flickers who will do whatever they can to get you off the phone so they can go back to filing their nails.

sorry.

Can't you make the request online yourself? It doesn't have to be them, you can trigger it and they then have to respond within a certain time frame.

Surely this thread should be posted next Tuesday? You are jumping the gun, and you do need to chill out until then.
