Hi. Has anyone been to a tribunal for child tax credits and won? And what sort of questions do they ask?

I haven't been to one, but I suppose it depends on why you are appealing as to what questions they may ask.

Can you specify what the tribunal is for? What are you disputing?

I successfully disputed an overpayment but didn't reach tribunal stage. It took just over four years and I had to set up a repayment plan in the meantime while the dispute was going on. I got this refunded when I "won"

Hi. It’s a tribunial against my daughters Dad. He is currently receiving her benefits but I’ve appealed against it

Ah right, different to my scenario then. Have you taken legal advice?

Why is he receiving the tax credits? Does she live with him ?

Kellyjanexoxo · 01/06/2018 10:45

We have her jointly

Ok so what they will be trying to establish who is her primary carer. I know you say you have her equal but they can only pay tax credits to one parent. Have you had yoir appeal documentation yet?
You may want to consider things like who takes her for medical appointments, dentist, who buys her clothes. I assume as you have her equal you both take her to school. I'm also assuming he receives child benefit and do you pay maintenance for her?

We have her jointly
As in exactly 50/50?
