MLM Bot Watch 40 - Forever Living is 40! Yet still 99% of people in all MLM's lose money

Not making money with Forever Living?

Not making money with any MLM?

How to make money with Forever Living?
How to make money with MLM?

Maybe this report done for the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) by Jon M. Taylor, MBA, Ph.D., of the Consumer Awareness Institute may have the reason why.

www.ftc.gov/sites/default/files/documents/public_comments/trade-regulation-rule-disclosure-requirements-and-prohibitions-concerning-business-opportunities-ftc.r511993-00008%C2%A0/00008-57281.pdf

When someone urges you to join an MLM in their downline with tales of the riches you can earn, all they are trying to do is use you to earn themselves more money. They know the stats, they know you won't make money and you will lose money, and friends.

They will lovebomb you, be your best friend, be all over you and then drop you like a stone.

Look at the person who is your uplines facebook. See how the people who were tagged in her statuses a year ago the same way you are tagged now are doing. Are they still with the company? Many won't be. Those who are will still not be doing well, exactly the same as a year ago, or two years ago.

If you are in Forever living, check facebook for the global rally cheques of your upline, notice how they have been going down year on year? The market reached saturation point in 2015, it's downhill since then and things will get worse, not better.

Most MLM's in the UK are at the same point, we are not a huge country and MLM's have reached saturation point.

Is body shop at home an mlm?

Spongebobette · 19/06/2018 12:14

Hmm just thought, if you describe yourself as a ‘positivity magnet’ would that not mean you are negative?

Tupperwarelid · 19/06/2018 15:20

Notice Castlebot is off to Florida on a 2 week family holiday. Wonder if she’s taken the laptop so she can work her bizniz in the Magic Kingdom?

Norma27 · 19/06/2018 15:27

Yawn is again talking about building her business with honesty.
Yawn ‘honestly’ you are talking shite, and you are one of the most dishonest and insincere people I have come across.
Forever is crumbling, you know it yet you keep trying to draw more people in. You know they will lose money. How can you justify being such a con artist?

Whiterangey · 19/06/2018 15:46

@Lonelybutnice Body Shop at home is an MLM.

OP posts:
Whiterangey · 19/06/2018 17:06

Castle is a good example of why they will go broke now that business is not booming.

Those plane tickets will have cost her thousands, just to be able to take a photo to pretend to her downline she is still making the big money. It's not a sensible decision given how her 'business' is going, and how it will go in the next couple of years. All that she is doing is depleting her money quicker and it will only be partly replaced.

Does anyone remember after one of the global rallies (SA?) all the bots started to help sponsor deprived children with schooling etc.
All the news feed was clogged up for a good 6 months with how much good the bots were doing.
I hope they are fulfilling their obligation, it would be cruel to offer to so much and snatch it away when times were hard.
It just seems that I never read of any updates any more ...........

Whiterangey · 19/06/2018 23:57

I know Bestie was as late as last year, and Yawn was as well, something to show off about. I imagine they still are, that would an incredibly cold thing to suddenly stop doing.

I fully expect that those who are now heavily in debt may have stopped doing it, which sucks.

Screwing over deprived children is all part and parcel of what those in MLM's do so it would only be what they usually do.

Jamberry seems to be days away from collapsing. The supposed merger with another company didn’t happen after the final offer was rejected. Apparently they’ve not fulfilled an order in 4 weeks and now there are “technical difficulties” in placing any more.

GoldenKelpie · 20/06/2018 07:24

Interesting about Jamberry, hadn't heard from them for quite a while. It was one of the more ludicrous MLM's around, I mean who regularly wants to decorate their nails with them awful stickers?

Malibeau · 20/06/2018 07:33

Ugh. Ashamed to say I was am about a grand out of pocket from doing The Body Shop at Home last year.----

CurlsandCurves · 20/06/2018 08:39

@Malibeau don’t be ashamed, plenty of us on here are survivors of mlm. You should be proud of yourself for having the guts to walk away.

Spongebobette · 20/06/2018 09:28

absolutely, @Malibeau. By coming on here you might help others realise the truth and stop them getting themselves trapped.

Lonelybutnice · 20/06/2018 09:42

@malibeau I'm an out of pocket former FLP bot, you're not alone :-)
My friend has just added me to her new Body Shop at Home group last night on FB. Wonder what I can say to her to diplomatically warn her? And how out of pocket will she be when she has already signed up?

Malibeau · 20/06/2018 09:48

@Lonelybutnice oh no Sad it was all the "team" contests as well that I gradually came to realise were just ploys to fill the upliners' pockets. The prize usually being some spare stock they had Envy

Spongebobette · 20/06/2018 09:53

what is so sneaky is that FLP say that you can have your own 'business in a box' for £200 , but the people I know who get sucked in have VERY rapidly spent a LOT more. Replacing all their normal products with FL ones, for a start, then buying flyers, business cards etc etc, not to mention Success days including travel. They are told to invest in themselves and their business but in fact they are spending to keep their upline in tatty Homesense stuff.

Malibeau · 20/06/2018 09:54

Not to mention all the stock I bought which made commission for my upliners too..! Seeing all the pictures of other consultants' stock really made me envious at the time.

Twentytwentyhindsight · 20/06/2018 10:20

Another sneaky one in FLP is where your upline has you doing stalls where 'all profits go to charity' (as a condition to have the stall at the event). The profits bring, of course, her commission on the products.

My OH was therefore doing weekly stalls at various events where, no matter how much she sold (if anything), she would not make a penny - actually, with petrol, parking etc. expenses, she'd be down on the day.

It was sold to her as a 'favour' her upline was doing her, so she could make new customers and 'prospects'.

What her upline was omitting to say was that she, and FLP, were not waiving their cut, so my OH was essentially paying and working to fill their pockets, with not even the possibility of earning anything...

Twentytwentyhindsight · 20/06/2018 11:18

*The 'donated profits' being downline bot's commission on any sales.

Whiterangey · 20/06/2018 12:06

Wow! So the uplines using a charity to up their own profit, I should be shocked, but with uplines nothing could shock me.

To any uplines reading, that isn't a challenge.

Yawn is asking who she knows in Birmingham. Surely you would know where your friends live, except whoever she is planning to prey on in Birmingham won't be her friend, nothing but £ signs to her. Can you have real friends when you are higher up in an MLM?

OP posts:
Norma27 · 20/06/2018 12:09

Yawn. I am in Birmingham. Pm me hun.

9dartfinish · 20/06/2018 12:25

Elle Beau has linked a Youtube video on her FB page from the Jamberry Leadership equivalent of the emergency Cobra committee.

5 minutes of waffle and fake smiles......no panic there whatsoever.

Whiterangey · 20/06/2018 12:40

I've watched that, it seems it's all gone to shit and the top Jamberry bots will be going to M Network, and will drag their downlines with them.

Never understood the appeal of Jamberry, the nail wraps are absolute rubbish, and i've read that they can totally wreck your nails.

Another nail MLM to look out for which hasn't hit the UK yet, at least I don't think it has, is Color Street, instead of nail wraps it's nail varnish stickies, not sure if it works or not, the product, obviously the MLM won't work.

It's interesting to see how Jamberry went down, they were really huge a couple of years ago, I was added to quite a few parties via friends on facebook, and knew someone in the US who was doing it. It reached saturation, and I guess they didn't have any success launching into new markets which is the only way for an MLM to survive once it's reached saturation in a particular country.

Branching out into other countries is the reason FLP are still going. America never worked out for them, or it could be that it was saturated there ages ago and dwindled to nothing which is why it's not popular there. The same in the UK, saturation has been reached and now it's in freefaill.

OP posts:
9dartfinish · 20/06/2018 13:05

I completely agree that it's the expansion into other countries that is keeping the likes of FLP, Herbalife & Nu Skin going.

I was looking at the Seeking Alpha website earlier and saw the Q1 2018 revenue results from Nu Skin show that 75% of revenue comes from Asia/Far East and only 25% comes from the other regions - America's/ Pacific, EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa)

32% of revenue alone comes from Mainland China.

Whiterangey · 20/06/2018 13:12

Wow! That is a lot. Have FLP broken into China yet? The products will need to be tested on animals if they do, if that happens I bet the bots will keep that little fact to themselves. I know with other MLM's they always keep quiet when they break into China.
