about wether it is legal to change my employment over to another company for only half the wages i have been recieving for over two years.Basically my daughter and i have been cleaning a car showroom every weekday night for over two years ,tonight there was a letter left for us to say they had been approached by a cleaning contractor and the letter states that we have a two week consultation time to see wether we would like to continue doing this job,but we would then be under the employment of the contracting firm. but the money has been halved .are they allowed to do this ? this affects my daughter more than me because she is paying a mortgageand the loss of half her earnings is very distressing to her.please can someone help advise us what to do .TIA

I think you need to go to the CAB and find out if it is legal.

They should be able to give you plenty of advice.

we are employed directly through the car showrooms.we never had a contract because we originally were only meant to be there for 8 weeks to help them out.i have been there 32 months and my daughter 26 months.
