Selling to friends

I know that there are lots of MLM companies out there which encourage you to make money from friends and sell things people don't need. But I have been approached about a company which is launching in the next few months which sounds really interesting. My DDs are just in school so i feel ready to get involved in something that i can do as part of life as a mum.

They make kids shoes and allow you to measure their feet at home, they are ethical and really well made comfortable shoes, by giving you the measure it means you don't have to go into the shops and you can measure your kids feet and your friends kids feet anytime. It isnt about finding more people to join a team but more about helping parents avoid going into the shops to get shoes all the time.

They have asked me to be one of the founder mums and i just wanted to know peoples experience. They seem really nice and give old shoes to charity and have clear commission with no expectations on sales or anything. Anyway i thought it sounded interesting, am a bit worried about selling to friends but they are meant to be amazing shoes so it sounds like something everyone will want... do you have any experience here or things i need to be careful about?

wow really interesting - I am struggling with my kids shoes at the moment - so I like the sound of this as I need better shoes for my DS and I hate the current supermarket shopping for shoes and going to Clarks is expensive for me but they also never have his size in the sales.

I don't know about selling to friends but I would like to know more about comfortable shoes. I wouldn't mind my friends selling to me as long as I can afford them - the price matters to me as I don't have much money.

I'd like to know more, perhaps you could PM me the details? It sounds really interesting.

Sounds like it could be expensive though?

With little ones whose feet grow rapidly I would have worried about this.

Why sell something that people but so infrequently? Parents of children with unproblematic feet won't buy from you. People are generally very uncomfortable buying from friends, too.

Buy, not but

how many kids do you know? How much profit will you make per pair of shoes, given each kid has a new pair 2 or 3 times a year? How does the price of their shoes compare to the shops?

these people won't be in business for your benefit...
