HP contract enquiry

We are coming to the end of our HP contract with Peugeot and I would like to switch to a new make of car (VW). We still owe £8000 on the Peugeot - can anyone tell me how it works if we switch to a new deal? We may have £1000 deposit. I take it they will take our car and incorporate the amount we owe into a new contract?

Bit clueless as we've never changed car dealers before as we always assumed we were tied into Peugeot!!

It's not HP it's PCP!

If it's PCP they just take the car back and you owe nothing.

As long as the car is in a good condition. If there's any dings get them sorted first.

Have you any equity in the car? Usually not but if you originally had a big deposit you might?

Totally agree get any dings repaired before handing back, you get stung for those
