Passport question

My ds is going away with his daddy in June, ds is Matthew Philip James Catterwell, passport says Matthew James Catterwell.

I'm upset about this as Philip was the only name i chose, and now he has his dad's surname not mine, i feel like my part in his name is completely erased by the passport error, but that's another story!

Besides my feelings on the issue, is there any reason to get it changed? It has been issued incorrectly as his dad filled the form out wrong and accidently missed off Philip. this means that to get it corrected we (I) would have to pay the charge again. and as they travel in 4 weeks we are cutting it fine.

He says the passport office say there is no reason he cannot travel on that passport,

does anyone know any different?

I don't want him to go and then have problems if he is ill or something and his passport doesn't match his NHS records?

thanks

As long as the ticket matches it should be ok I think.

even if his EHIC and NHS card have the full name on?

Don't think it matters , he'll so rarely have to produce them together. You don't need any id to get an EHIC.
