Just wondering hows the cheapest way to go about it if the mother agrees and there is no problems and how to do it cheers.

My brother just went along to a solicitor, filled in some forms which were sent to the court. A letter was sent to the mother but she didn't reply so obviously isn't contesting it.

His is still being processed through the courts as we speak but it's just a case of waiting for the letter now.

Oh and he got Legal aid so I'm afraid I can't give any idea of costs.

I did this, I went to the court and requested the forms, we filled them out, went to the court office together and signed them with the Clerk as witness. all done, cost nothing. Certificate was then sent to each of us

dh and his ex just did it themselves. Went along to the court and signed the papers. Then certificate was sent. Ask your local court, they should be able to tell you. In dh's case, the instructions from the local court weren't perfect, but enough to get it done without too many stops and starts (and without paying a lawyer).
