don;t really understand the question?

did you have an overdraft organised? that is free within its agreed limit

if so, did you go £2.20 or £400 over the limit

best thing to do is go and see the bank, or oyu will continue being charged ...quite heavily. if you are having financial problems you should go and talk to them

mumto3girls · 14/05/2007 20:47

How can you owe them £400 after going over drawn by £2.20?

mummyto2littleprincess · 15/05/2007 11:12

i wrote a cheque out to someone one ebay and they took weeks to bank it so by the time they did i had no money in there so it went overdraft which we didnt have at the time now we do thank god anyway cuz i never paid the intresed it went to £400 plus but i hardly got any of there letters

well, if you got one letter, and knew you were over the limit, then £400 is a lot of interest on £2.20..

best thing to do is go to the bank, and talk to them.....you can also look at the threads on here about reclaiming unfair bank charges...

still not quite sure how £2.20 became £400

lulumama · 15/05/2007 12:13

my first sentence does not make sense!

if you hardly got any of their letters, then you must have got one, so you knew you were overdrawn...but £400 seems excessive

mummyto2littleprincess · 15/05/2007 12:36

yes i knew i was over drawn but i paid it back straight away it intresed they have added

doesn;t sound right.....either you paid back the full amount with interest or not...the interest is not claimed back after you have paid back the initial borrowing, but at the same time......have you an letters from them to refer to?

GameGirly · 15/05/2007 13:38

I think you ought to take any letters and statements you have to the bank and talk to them about it. No way can £400 interest be charged on a £2.20 overdraft, surely. I'm no good at maths, but that's like a million %!!

Did any items on your account get bounced because you were overdrawn?
