I have been really stupid and I think I have been scammed.

I have been worried about money for some time now. There have been a lot of financial strains. I wanted to help. I came across a Dragons Den advert in the internet for bitcoin trading. I impulsively invested £250. It was meant to be an auto trading logarithm that did everything in my behalf. Then I started getting phone calls saying that I wouldn't make money that way and that I needed to put a stop on the auto trade. Which I did. I'd lost about £10 at this point. Then this trader kept saying that he wanted to trade for me. I decided I wanted my money back. He said that wasn't possible as I hadn't turned the auto trade off and now I was down £190. I don't know what this means. I turned that function off. Does his mean I owe money? Please help me and please don't flame me. I don't know what to do. I can't even find the website now

It probably wasn't genuinely linked to Dragons' Den. The scam companies do the same thing using the guy from Money Saving Expert - Martin Lewis.

I don't think they can pursue you for debt though.

You may want to contact Action Fraud and Trading Standards. Do you have any emails or confirmation of the transaction? Tbh I fear you will have to write off £250, sorry.

LIZS · 24/04/2018 13:46

I think being "£190 down" means the investment is now worth only £60.

Bitcoins investments are usually scams stay away from them, not sure if you can recover the cost

CiderwithBuda · 24/04/2018 13:51

Martin Lewis from Money Saving Expert was on th news yesterday as he is taking Facebook to court for allowing these types of ads on Fab using his face as it’s nothnig to do with him. He mentioned there are ads using someone from Dragons Den too. So yes I think it is a scam. Sorry.

Oh no. Thank you for all your comments. Well it's my own fault. I'll have to suffer the loss. But they can't put me into any kind of debt can they? I can't end up owing anything? I've cancelled my bank card. I don't know what else to do.
